			'''Jupiter-Verlag''' was founded in 1987 by Inge and Adolf Schneider in Zürich, and '''ITEC''' followed in 1998. Their periodical began as ''Jupiter-Info'', a supplement to the Swiss ''Öko-Journal''; when that magazine ceased publication early in 1996, the supplement was relaunched in December 1996 as an independent journal.

			The '''''NET-Journal''''' takes its name from the abbreviation NET, for ''Neue Energie-Technologien'' (New Energy Technologies), which is also its programme: innovative approaches to the world energy problem, and the presentation of specific devices and inventions in that area. Alongside the two editors, the editorial staff and expert advisory board have included Dr Hermann Wild and Dr Hans Weber. The journal is published from Zürich.
