'''Fernando Loup''' is a researcher known for a series of papers on warp-drive spacetimes, in particular the Natário warp-drive metric, and their possible connection to faster-than-light phenomena. He is listed in ''[[The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists]]''.

==Work==
Loup has posted numerous preprints, many via the viXra repository, exploring the mathematics of warp-drive metrics such as the Alcubierre and Natário warp drives. Following the 2011 OPERA experiment, which initially reported neutrinos apparently travelling faster than light between CERN and the Gran Sasso laboratory (a result later attributed to a measurement error), Loup proposed in a paper titled "How the 17 GeV OPERA Superluminal Neutrino from CERN Arrived at Gran Sasso Without Desintegration" that a micro Natário warp bubble surrounding the neutrino could account for the observation. In this proposal the neutrino would remain locally subluminal inside the bubble while the bubble itself moved superluminally. Such warp-drive interpretations are speculative and lie outside the scientific mainstream.
