'''Evelina Costanzo''' is a physicist known for a series of papers, co-authored with Maurizio Consoli, that reanalyse the Michelson–Morley and later interferometer experiments and argue for the possibility of a weak preferred reference frame. She is listed in ''[[The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists]]''.

==Work==
With Consoli, Costanzo published studies including "The Michelson–Morley experiment and the cosmic velocity of the Earth" (2003), "The motion of the Solar System and the Michelson–Morley experiment" (2003), and "From classical to modern ether-drift experiments: the narrow window for a preferred frame", the last appearing in ''Physics Letters A'' (2004). In these works the authors re-examine the small residual fringe shifts reported in classical ether-drift experiments and argue that, within certain models of the vacuum as a physical medium, they could be interpreted as evidence for a preferred frame and a real, if tiny, anisotropy in the speed of light. This interpretation is contrary to the standard understanding of special relativity, under which those residuals are treated as null results.
