'''Emanuel Smejkal''' is an independent researcher and author known for a series of alternative papers on relativity, the speed of light and cosmology. He is listed in ''[[The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists]]''.

==Work==
Smejkal has published several papers through the General Science Journal between 2003 and 2008. His central proposal is a "Theory of Dual Relativity" (2003), which he develops further in "Speed of Light: From Inertial Frame to New EI-Ether" (2006). In this work he argues for replacing the classical luminiferous aether with what he calls an "El-ether," whose essential properties he describes as speed and un-homogeneity, and which he associates with the flow of electric induction and the charge of the electron.

His other papers address cosmology, including "Cosmic Microwave Background & Hubble's Law" (2004) and a "Proposed Experiment with Spectral Lines of Binary Stars" (2004), as well as a more philosophical piece, "Does Science Warn Us Against Its Own Authority?" (2008). These ideas lie outside the scientific mainstream.
