'''Egon Marx''' is an American theoretical physicist known for his work on field theory, relativistic quantum mechanics and electromagnetism, and for proposing the SWEEP model of elementary particles. He is listed in ''[[The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists]]''.

==Background==
Marx has worked at institutions including the University of Chile, the California Institute of Technology, Clarkson University, Drexel University and Harry Diamond Laboratories, and from 1980 at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He has published more than one hundred articles on field theory, relativistic quantum mechanics and electromagnetism.

==SWEEP model==
Marx proposes a unified model of elementary particles, the "strong, weak, and electromagnetic interactions of elementary particles" (SWEEP) model, based on the relativistic quantum mechanics of just three basic particles: the neutrino, the pion, and the archyon or beauty baryon. In this scheme the proton is composed of an archyon and three pions, and quarks, vector bosons and the Higgs boson play no role, although he does not necessarily exclude them. This departs from the Standard Model of particle physics and lies outside the accepted mainstream.
