Toussaint founded the production company Free Spirit Productions and directed the feature-length documentary ''Free Energy: The Race to Zero Point'' (1997), which surveys inventors and researchers claiming to develop non-polluting or "over-unity" energy devices, from Nikola Tesla to later experimenters. The film is hosted by former ABC Radio broadcaster Bill Jenkins.<br />

He later developed ''Ultimate Energy Showdown'', a proposed television series intended to test and debate the validity of new-energy devices such as magnetic motors, crystal batteries and unconventional electric generators.
