Robert Louis Kemp (born October 29, 1966) is an American electrical engineer and independent theoretical physicist. He is best known as the author of the multi-volume Super Principia Mathematica (2010), in which he sets out a "Unified Vortex Field Theory" of matter, motion, and gravitation based on a revived model of the Aether.

Biography

Kemp earned a Bachelor of Science (1992) and a Master of Science (1994) in Electrical Engineering, both with a concentration in communication systems theory, from the School of Engineering at Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Alabama. In 2010 he completed the Engineering Leadership and Management Executive Education Program at the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business and Viterbi School of Engineering in Los Angeles.

During his studies Kemp spent several summers at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where he conducted satellite data analysis, orbital-mechanics simulations of celestial bodies, and radio-frequency signal analysis. After graduating in 1994 he joined Hughes Aircraft Company as a radar and satellite systems engineer. In 1995 he briefly worked for Moller International as chief engineer of the flight-control systems for the company's M200, M400, and Aerobot vertical take-off and landing "flying car" aircraft, before returning to Hughes, which was acquired by Raytheon Systems Corporation in 1997. At Raytheon he worked as a systems engineer on radar systems for the F-14, F-15, F-18, and Global Hawk aircraft.

Beginning in 1999 Kemp also taught mathematics at the University of Phoenix's Southern California campus, a role he continued for more than a decade. In 2002 he left Raytheon to work as a web-design software programmer at the Disney Corporation before returning to aerospace with the Northrop Grumman Corporation in 2004, where he worked on the X-47B unmanned combat air vehicle and, from 2006, served as algorithm development and system design verification manager for the F-35 fighter aircraft program. In June 2007 he resigned his management position to devote himself full-time to physics and to completing the book he had begun some two decades earlier. He resides in Long Beach, California.

Scientific contributions

Kemp's principal work is Super Principia Mathematica: The Rage to Master Conceptual & Mathematica Physics, published in three volumes in 2010 and developed over roughly twenty years. In it he proposes what he calls a Unified Vortex Field Theory, which attempts to combine matter, motion, thermodynamics, cosmology, and general relativity within a single framework built on a mechanical model of the Aether. Central to the work is the concept of a "Cosmic Vacuum Dark Force" said to permeate the vacuum of spacetime, from which Kemp derives a "Gravitational Vortex" model intended to describe phenomena ranging from the geometry of matter to black-hole mechanics. Kemp has also presented related papers through the Natural Philosophy Alliance and its successor organizations, addressing topics such as the net attraction force of the gravitation vortex and the conditions for the presence of matter in the Einstein field equations. His theories are outside the scientific mainstream.
