Rahul Krishna is an Indian independent researcher known for a theoretical model of the origin of the universe that proposes corrections to the standard Big Bang model. He presented this work at the 2012 conference of the Natural Philosophy Alliance in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Biography
Rahul Krishna is a researcher based in India whose stated interests include reading, thinking, research and teaching. Outside of his scientific work he enjoys playing chess and solving sudoku puzzles.
Scientific contributions
In his 2012 paper "Origin of the Universe: a Theoretical Model," Krishna argues that, although the Big Bang model is widely accepted, some observations of the behaviour of matter and light in the universe are not yet fully explained by the standard version of that model. He notes that contemporary cosmology relies on the concepts of dark matter and dark energy to account for large-scale gravitational behaviour and the observed rates of cosmic expansion, and he characterises these components as arbitrary and, in his view, difficult to verify directly. Krishna proposes a set of corrections to the Big Bang model, which he presents as yielding a revised model intended to better explain the observed large-scale behaviour of matter and light without depending on those elements.
