Article Sources

From Natural Philosophy Wiki

This page lists the websites the wiki gathers articles from. Unlike Article Index, this page is maintained by hand — the import scripts read it, they do not write it. To add a source, add a row.

For each site the importer collects the title, author, date and a link, writes a short original summary, and creates a wiki page. Full article text is never copied.

Site Feed Articles Range Status Subject area Notes
The Scientific Worldview Blogger JSON 670 2007–2026 Active Physics Blog of Glenn Borchardt; sole author. Publishes continuously; the main reason for a daily check.
Beyond Mainstream WordPress REST 97 2015–2021 Dormant Physics 21 authors, most already on this wiki. Bylines are short forms and need mapping to full page titles. Three admin posts are site furniture, not articles, and are excluded.
NLU Global WordPress REST 68 2022–2026 Active Artificial Intelligence Mostly David de Hilster. Cross-posts 11 articles with VisualText — deduplicated by title, not by URL.
VisualText WordPress REST 34 2017–2026 Active Artificial Intelligence NLP++ and language technology. Many posts carry the admin byline but are by David de Hilster.
dehilster.com WordPress RSS 10+ 2025–2026 Active Art Personal site of David de Hilster; art and sculpture work rather than physics.

Sites considered and not used

  • energywavetheory.com (Jeff Yee) — has a feed, but the blog was never used; the only post is a default placeholder from 2014.
  • electricuniverse.info — feed returns no entries.
  • expanding-earth.orgdefunct. The domain lapsed and now serves an unrelated commercial site. Wiki links to it have been redirected to the Internet Archive copy. A caution worth remembering: dissident-science sites go dark and their domains get resold, which is why every article page here records an archived copy alongside the live link.

How articles are catalogued

  1. The importer reads each site's feed and skips anything already catalogued.
  2. For genuinely new items it writes a short original summary and matches the byline to an existing scientist page. An unrecognised author is flagged for a human, never guessed at and never auto-created — several people on this wiki have similar names.
  3. The article page is created with an {{Infobox article}}, the summary, and links to both the original and an archived copy.
  4. article-rollup.py regenerates the ==Articles== section on each author's page, grouped by subject area.
  5. article-index.py regenerates Article Index.
